Prabowo Subianto: Free Nutritious Meals is an Investment for the Future of the Nation’s Generation

Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto highlighted two of his government’s flagship programmes, namely Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) and Free Health Checks (CKG) in his virtual keynote speech at the World Governments Summit 2025 Dubai international forum, Thursday (13/2).

Prabowo said that the Free Health Check was initiated by the government so that people could save more money on health expenses.

The Free Health Check itself, according to Prabowo, is an initiative to encourage preventive care and early detection of health problems in the community.

‘To create a healthier and more productive society, and save a lot of money,’ Prabowo explained.

Meanwhile, Free Nutritious Meals, according to Prabowo, is one of the Indonesian government’s transformative initiatives for the welfare of the people. He said the programme is an investment in the future of the nation’s generation.

‘Providing nutritious meals every day may seem simple, but when implemented in hundreds of thousands of schools, 330,000 to be exact – from remote villages to dynamic urban centres – it becomes a significant investment in our future,’ Prabowo said.

‘And to bridge this gap, the Indonesian government has embarked on an ambitious programme in partnership with the private sector,’ he explained.

‘I am now opening up the infrastructure sector to the private sector. Inviting private companies from foreign and domestic markets. We are building essential lifelines-roads, bridges, ports, airports, energy lines, and digital networks-that connect communities and stimulate local economies,’ Prabowo said. (RR)
