Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto highlighted the successful reduction of airfare by 10% ahead of the 2025 Christmas and New Year holidays (Nataru).
“For the first time in several years, we’ve been able to lower airfare prices. Typically, during the end of the year or holidays, prices rise. But now we’ve managed to reduce ticket prices slightly to help our people,” Prabowo said during his remarks at the Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (2/12).
Prabowo emphasized that the reduction in airfare does not harm airlines.
“However, we must remain vigilant to ensure that this reduction doesn’t negatively impact the aviation industry,” he added.
He also urged the Red and White Cabinet, particularly the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure, Minister of Transportation, and TNI-Polri, to thoroughly prepare for the Nataru holiday season.
“Colleagues, preparations for the end-of-year Nataru holidays must be done meticulously. This involves cross-ministerial collaboration, particularly from the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure, Minister of Transportation, Minister of Public Works, Minister of Tourism, the National Police Chief, and the TNI, who will face increased duties,” Prabowo emphasized.
Prabowo expressed hope that all parties will cooperate effectively to ensure smooth security measures during the Nataru holiday.
“We must ensure that the public can welcome the New Year safely, orderly, and smoothly. This also serves as an opportunity to boost our economy,” Prabowo concluded. (RR)
