Cairo — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto reiterated his firm stance on eradicating corruption and mismanagement, emphasizing his commitment to strict law enforcement against offenders.
“In order to safeguard Indonesia’s wealth from mismanagement, leakage, or laundering, we must commit to eradicating corruption from our nation,” Prabowo declared during a speech to Indonesian students at Al Azhar University in Cairo on Wednesday (December 18).
Despite having been in office for just two months, Prabowo highlighted significant achievements, noting that dozens of corrupt individuals responsible for losses amounting to trillions of rupiah have already been apprehended. He expressed confidence in his chosen path.
“If you have been elected by the people and sworn in before the Almighty, there is no room for hesitation. We must remain loyal to the people and to God,” Prabowo asserted.
Addressing lawbreakers, Prabowo sent a clear warning: “If you keep defying the law, there will be consequences. We will enforce justice. And to the officials: where does your loyalty lie? To the nation and the people, or to someone else? If you are loyal to the nation and the state, join me. Believe me, I will cleanse Indonesia, and I am confident the people of Indonesia stand with me,” he concluded.
