Jakarta – Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto has disclosed that he has relayed an initiative for Islamic boarding schools in East Java to accommodate Palestinian children who are victims of the war in Gaza.
The initiative, proposed by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, was presented to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) during a meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, June 13.
“I also offered, on the initiative of Mrs. Khofifah, the Governor of East Java, and also leaders of Islamic boarding schools, who are ready to accommodate orphaned children who have experienced trauma,” he revealed.
This proposal is part of efforts to provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people while also supporting lasting peace in the region.
He further stated that the government is actively encouraging collaborations with various parties to send medical teams to operate field hospitals in the Gaza area.
