Jakarta — President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, received letters of credence from eight newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors from friendly nations in a state ceremony held at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
The solemn and dignified ceremony marked the official start of each ambassador’s diplomatic mission in Indonesia. President Prabowo personally welcomed each envoy as they arrived to formally present their credentials.
Each ambassador was greeted with full honors in the palace courtyard, including the playing of their respective national anthems, before taking turns to present their letters of credence to the President.
President Prabowo was accompanied during the ceremony by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Lt. Col. Teddy Indra Wijaya.
The eight ambassadors who presented their credentials were:
- H.E. Mr. Luis Guillermo Arellano Jibaja, Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador;
- H.E. Mr. Enrique Antonio Acuña Mendoza, Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela;
- H.E. Mr. Roberto Colaminè, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy;
- H.E. Mr. Philip Nathan Taula, Ambassador of New Zealand;
- H.E. Mr. Ramil Rzayev Abil Oglu, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
- H.E. Mr. Roderick Bruce Brazier, Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Australia;
- H.E. Mrs. Ivana Golubović-Duboka, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia;
- H.E. Dr. Faysal Ahmed Salad, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
This ceremony reaffirms President Prabowo’s commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s diplomatic ties and international cooperation with partner nations.
The presentation of credentials underscores Indonesia’s continued openness and active engagement under Prabowo’s leadership in fostering mutually beneficial partnerships across a wide range of sectors.
