Jakarta — President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, issued a stern warning to government elites, urging them not to attempt to manipulate or deceive the nation. He called on all officials to reform themselves and focus on building the country.
“Once again, I urge and remind all of them—do not think this nation does not exist. Do not think this country can be toyed with. Do not think the Republic of Indonesia can be lied to or deceived,” Prabowo said during his address at the Pancasila Day commemoration held at the Pancasila Building in Jakarta on Monday (June 2).
Prabowo asserted that he would not hesitate to remove individuals who are disloyal to the Republic or fail to uphold the law. He stressed that the values of Pancasila must not be reduced to mere slogans, but rather must be internalized to eliminate all forms of misconduct.
“Pancasila must not become just a mantra or slogan. Indonesia is a rich nation, and its wealth must be enjoyed by all Indonesians. All misconduct and leakages must stop. Any official unable to carry out their duties should step down before I dismiss them,” he emphasized.
The President expressed confidence that Indonesia can emerge as a strong nation capable of facing global challenges—provided it is free from corruption, manipulation, and fraud. He reminded the public that Indonesia is a large and wealthy nation.
Prabowo also reiterated that poverty and hunger must no longer exist in Indonesia. He encouraged citizens to actively monitor for violations and report them without hesitation.
“There must be no poverty in Indonesia, no hunger. Let us unite. Do not hesitate—if you see an official or leader violating the law, report them! Today, we have technology. Every citizen in every village has access to a gadget. If you have evidence, share it immediately. Don’t accept misconduct, don’t tolerate officials who abuse their power,” he said.
Additionally, Prabowo warned citizens not to be divided by foreign interests. He stated that many foreign actors are funding organizations with the aim of sowing discord among Indonesians.
“The entire Indonesian people must unite. Our differences must not become a source of conflict. That is exactly what foreign powers who dislike a strong and prosperous Indonesia want,” he concluded.
