Bali — The President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), introduced the President-elect for the 2024-2029 period, Prabowo Subianto, to all delegates at the 10th World Water Forum 2024 in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Monday (20/5).
Jokowi introduced Prabowo while delivering his opening speech at the 10th edition of the global water forum, noting that Prabowo would continue the governance of Indonesia, including its water management efforts.
“In October, my term as President will come to an end, and on this occasion, allow me to introduce the President-elect of Indonesia, Mr. Prabowo Subianto,” said Jokowi.
Prabowo then stood from his seat and greeted all attendees at the opening of the 10th World Water Forum 2024.
“Currently, Mr. Prabowo is serving as the Minister of Defense and will continue Indonesia’s commitment to contribute to global water management. Thank you, Mr. Prabowo,” Jokowi stated.
The 10th World Water Forum 2024 is being hosted in Bali, Indonesia. The first World Water Forum was held in 1997 in Marrakech, Morocco.
This meeting gathers 400 participants and aims to address the global water crisis. The forum resulted in the Marrakech Declaration, which mandated the World Water Council to develop the “World Water Vision” for the 21st century.
The 10th World Water Forum 2024 is attended by representatives from 48 countries and 7,334 participants who are actively participating to strengthen collaborative commitments to address global water-related challenges.
