Jakarta – Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto reminisced about his educational days at Akabri in the early 1970s. He stated that the training from the seniors has maintained the resilience to defend the country to this day.

“We were forged by them, and they successfully instilled deeply patriotic values within our souls,” said Prabowo during the ‘Halal Bihalal and Graduation Celebration of Akabri Alumni 1971-1975 of 2024’ at the Ministry of Defense, Jakarta, on Saturday (4/5).

“The spirit of sacrifice, the spirit of service, the spirit of love for the homeland,” continued Prabowo.

On this occasion, Prabowo also urged Akabri alumni to never cease fighting. He mentioned that the effort to serve must continue until the end as it will set an example for the generations that will carry forward the nation’s aspirations.

“We place our dreams on the shoulders of these cadets, from Unhan (Defense University), from academies: Akmil, AAU, AAL, Police Academy,” said Prabowo.

“These younger brothers and sisters will continue our aspirations; continue to build a strong Indonesia; create a prosperous Indonesia; lead our nation to stand equal with other nations in the world,” he added.

Among the hundreds of Akabri alumni present, notable retired figures such as the 6th President of Indonesia, General TNI (Ret) Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and General TNI (Ret) Wiranto were seen.

Also in attendance were General (Ret) Hendropriyono, General TNI (Ret) Agum Gumelar, Admiral TNI (Ret) Slamet Subianto, General Pol (Ret) Sutanto, along with Mrs. Wismoyo Arismunandar, Mrs. LB Moerdani, and other senior Akabri alumni from the classes of 1971-1975 from both the military and the police.
