Jakarta – President-elect of Indonesia for the term 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, has stated that during his presidency, he will continually work to modernize and advance the domestic business climate to achieve economic development success.
This was expressed in an article he wrote that was published in the international media outlet Newsweek on Wednesday (June 12) under the title “The Road Ahead for Indonesia.”
“We play a crucial role in building a modern and advanced economy by implementing the right policies and creating a favorable business environment,” Prabowo emphasized in his article.
He mentioned that the success of Indonesia’s economic development depends on the business world and how the government supports the success of stable businesses to create the right conditions for the growth of various promising new businesses or startups.
Prabowo revealed that his administration has outlined a number of initiative steps to improve Indonesia’s business climate, such as the digitalization of public services.
“Public service digitalization will have a significant impact on the ease of doing business and the eradication of corruption, which are obstacles to a country’s economic development,” Prabowo stated.
Furthermore, he considers diversification to be an essential step in the Indonesian economy by supporting the most promising sectors, namely high-tech industrial innovation.
Therefore, Prabowo intends to make Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education accessible to everyone in Indonesia and to support them in creating unique ideas and solutions for future industries.
“Indonesia has great potential, with a talented and highly skilled human resource base. I will work hard to provide additional training opportunities in these fields,” he said.
Regarding the tourism sector, Prabowo views Indonesia as a major tourist destination renowned for its service tradition and tourism almost globally.
“Behind the natural beauty of its majestic islands and diverse ecosystems, cultures, and ethnic groups, what’s most important is that Indonesia has warmth and generosity,” he stated.
