London — President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto attended a luncheon invitation from UK Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner at Lancaster House, London, on Thursday (November 21).
Prabowo arrived at Lancaster House at 1:15 p.m. local time. Angela greeted him warmly upon his arrival, and Prabowo introduced members of his cabinet who accompanied him.
“This is our Foreign Minister (Sugiono), Minister of Finance (Sri Mulyani), Cabinet Secretary (Teddy Indra Wijaya), Minister of Human Rights (Nataligus Pigai), and Deputy Chair of Commission I of the DPR for Foreign Affairs (Budi Djiwandono),” Prabowo told Angela.
“Pleasure to meet you,” Angela responded.
As Prabowo and Angela made their way to The Eagle Room for their lunch meeting, one of Angela’s staff members mentioned “Larry The Cat,” the famous feline resident of 10 Downing Street, the UK Prime Minister’s residence.
Prabowo then shared that he also has a fondness for cats, keeping eight as pets in Indonesia.
“I have eight cats,” Prabowo told Angela.
Angela shared that she also had two cats but mentioned that one had passed away.
“I also had two, but one has died,” Angela said.
Prabowo remarked that cats could sometimes be mischievous.
“You know, sometimes they can be annoying, right?” Prabowo quipped.
“Yes, they do know exactly what they like and don’t like,” Angela agreed.
Following their meal, Prabowo and Angela concluded the meeting with a group photo.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the relationship between Indonesia and the UK across various mutually beneficial fields. (RR)
