Prabowo Subianto’s Foreign Visits Yield Investment Commitments of $18.5 Billion: Exceeds Target

London — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto announced that his series of official foreign visits have secured a total investment commitment for Indonesia amounting to $18.5 billion.

Prabowo revealed this achievement after attending the CEO Business Forum in the State Dining Room at Lancaster House, London, on Thursday afternoon (11/21) with 19 company leaders.

“It slightly exceeded (the target). Exceeded. So, I am returning home with a total commitment of $18.5 billion. I think this is quite good; it reflects global trust in Indonesia’s economy,” said Prabowo.

The breakdown of the $18.5 billion total includes a $7 billion investment commitment from British Petroleum, $1.5 billion from several other companies, and $10 billion secured during his previous visit to the People’s Republic of China.

“So, our meetings today have been quite productive. They are very interested in entering Indonesia. Some of them have already been in Indonesia for over 100 years. Their performance has also been quite good,” Prabowo explained.

“I think this shows their optimism about our economy. This confidence was also evident in Brazil, in America, and in China. Alhamdulillah, it has been very productive,” he added.

After concluding his engagements in London, Prabowo will proceed to his final overseas destination, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on November 23, 2024, before returning to Indonesia on November 24, 2024. (RR)
