Jakarta – The President-elect of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 term, Prabowo Subianto, expressed his gratitude for the support and prayers from the current President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), following the successful surgery on his leg injury conducted a week ago in Indonesia.
He shared this acknowledgment in a post on his personal Instagram account @prabowo on Sunday (June 30).
“Thank you to President RI @jokowi for providing moral support and prayers,” said Prabowo.
Prabowo also expressed his gratitude to Allah SWT and thanked the medical team led by Brigadier General (Ret.) Dr. Robert Hutauruk, Colonel Dr. Sunaryo, Dr. Siska Widayati, assisted by Dr. Thomas, and all the nurses and medical staff at the National Defense Central Hospital (RSPPN) Panglima Besar Soedirman, Bintaro, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta, for the success of the major surgical procedure.
“All of this is for the country and the nation, and I believe that the medical team and all the medical personnel handling it are competent and professional.”
Prabowo revealed that he is ready to resume activities following the surgery.
“God willing, with a healthy condition, I am more prepared to serve and dedicate myself to the country and the people of Indonesia. Thank you to all the people for their prayers and support,” he said.
Prabowo also disclosed that the cause of the long-standing injury was two parachuting accidents while he was still active in the Indonesian National Armed Forces.
“As many people are aware, I experienced two parachuting accidents during my service in the military in the 1980s on my left leg, and I have continued to feel the effects of this injury,” he explained.
