Jakarta — President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, was visibly moved during a heartwarming moment at the 79th Bhayangkara Day Commemoration Ceremony, held at the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta on Tuesday (July 1), when he was greeted by a ceremonial flower bouquet from the Tunas Bhayangkara Junior Police Corps.
The young cadets, dressed in sharp uniforms, stood tall as they saluted the President before presenting a vibrant ethnic performance that showcased Indonesia’s rich cultural diversity. Their act was accompanied by the rhythmic beats of Bali’s kecak music and featured traditional dance movements inspired by the cultures of Bali, Sulawesi, Papua, and Aceh.
“Ready! Precision salute! We are the elite force, serving the nation at the frontline—junior police for our homeland, in celebration of the 79th Bhayangkara Day!” declared the young corps commander with fervor.
The performance also included Sundanese melodies woven seamlessly into dance formations from West Java. The cadets concluded their routine by forming the number “79” on the parade grounds, in tribute to the 79th anniversary of the National Police.
At the end of the performance, the young commander approached President Prabowo to deliver a small bouquet of light blue flowers as a token of appreciation.
“What’s your name?” asked Prabowo.
“Sir! Azira,” the girl replied confidently.
“How old are you?” he continued.
“Twelve years old, Sir!”
“Where are you from?”
“Indramayu, Sir.”
“Send my regards to your parents,” Prabowo said warmly, as he pinned a commemorative badge onto her uniform.
“Thank you, Sir,” she replied with a bright smile.
The cadets then closed their appearance with an upbeat farewell performance, waving and beaming with joy.
“Demonstration completed—return to position! Salute, stand at ease! See you, bye-bye! Thank you, Mr. President!” they shouted in unison, drawing laughter and enthusiastic applause from the audience.
President Prabowo, still watching the cheerful display, nodded appreciatively and smiled, clearly touched by the spirited tribute from the nation’s youngest law enforcers.
