A warm and cordial atmosphere filled the Pancasila Building in Jakarta on Monday morning (June 2) ahead of the national ceremony commemorating Pancasila Day. President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, was seen sharing a friendly conversation with Indonesia’s 5th President, Megawati Soekarnoputri, in a moment that drew public attention.
The two leaders sat facing each other across a long oval table, accompanied by several high-ranking state officials. On Prabowo’s right were Foreign Minister Sugiono and State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, while to his left sat Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Megawati, wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, was seated beside Indonesia’s 6th Vice President, Try Sutrisno. Shortly afterward, Prabowo moved from his original seat to sit directly beside Megawati—a gesture reflecting a relaxed rapport and mutual respect.
State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi was also seen engaging in the conversation, crouching slightly between them to listen in on the warm exchange. These informal moments took place just minutes before the official ceremony began, which this year carried the theme “Strengthening Pancasila Ideology Towards a Great Indonesia.”
Before the ceremony commenced, Megawati was also seen walking just behind Prabowo, flanked by Vice President Gibran, as they made their way together toward the ceremonial podium.
The interaction symbolized intergenerational harmony among national leaders during a sacred moment of national reflection, reinforcing the spirit of unity under the banner of Pancasila ideology.
