Cairo — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto was warmly greeted by thousands of Indonesian students in Cairo, eager to shake his hand or take a photo during his address at the Al Azhar Convention Center on Wednesday (December 18).
The students expressed excitement and gratitude for Prabowo’s visit, which they said reinvigorated their sense of purpose and national pride.
“This visit from Mr. Prabowo truly inspires us as students who, in the future, will carry the great responsibilities entrusted to us by our nation,” said Ahmad Baiqi Malik, a student at Al Azhar University in Cairo.
Ahmad also recalled Prabowo’s message that Indonesian students studying in Cairo are invaluable assets to the nation, bearing the responsibility to contribute to Indonesia’s development upon their return.
“When we return home, we carry the nation’s trust and work together to build our country. Mr. Prabowo himself has great aspirations for Indonesia, and the role of students is integral to achieving that vision,” Ahmad explained.
In his speech, Prabowo delivered a special message to the students, acknowledging their significant role in shaping the future of Indonesia.
“I always emphasize that you, as students, are part of Indonesia’s future. You are the children who will continue the journey of our nation. Therefore, study diligently and earnestly,” Prabowo urged.
The event highlighted Prabowo’s connection with the younger generation and reinforced the importance of education and unity in driving Indonesia’s progress.
