Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto’s administration has implemented a free nutritious meal programme to reach many schools in 31 provinces, including special schools (SLB), with each menu ensured by nutritionists.
This was revealed by Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana after a limited meeting at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta on Friday (17/1).
“The Nutrition Agency places one nutritionist in each Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit and they have to detect what special needs exist in each service unit from the start,” he added.
She explained that the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit also has data related to the needs and foods that cannot be consumed by each student.
Furthermore, he pointed out that there was a child in Bojong Koneng who could not eat, aka phobia of rice. Similar measures are also applied in SLB.
“For example, in Warung Kiara like Bojong Koneng there is one child each who is phobic about rice, and that is taken care of. Then we have now served SLB, and the menu needs are also considered by nutritionists,” he added.
“Then we get reports from Papua that many are allergic, so we identify their allergies so that they are not given food that causes allergies,” he continued. (RR)
