Jakarta — President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, accompanied by philanthropist and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, paid a direct visit to observe the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program at Jati 03 Public Elementary School (SDN Jati 03) in Pulogadung, East Jakarta, on Wednesday (May 7).
Prabowo and Gates arrived at the school around 10:30 a.m. local time to an enthusiastic welcome from students and local residents who had gathered along the roadside.
“Prabowo! Prabowo! Prabowo!” chanted the crowd, many waving red-and-white Indonesian flags as the presidential convoy passed by.
From inside his Maung Garuda vehicle, Prabowo acknowledged the cheering residents with a wave and a smile.
The excitement reached a crescendo as Prabowo and Gates entered the school grounds together, greeted by a chorus of students calling the president’s name from the second and third floors of the school building.
“Pak Prabowo! Prabowo! Prabowo!” they shouted, waving eagerly toward the head of state.
In response, Prabowo smiled and waved back at the students, returning their energy with a warm and friendly gesture.
The visit to SDN Jati 03 Pulogadung marked a continuation of the day’s agenda following Prabowo and Gates’ official meeting earlier that morning at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.
