Jakarta — President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, recently received a series of heartfelt letters from junior and senior high school students at the Sekolah Rakyat (People’s School) in Cibinong, West Java. The President took time to read the letters personally while resting in his office.

The moment was shared through the official Instagram account of the Cabinet Secretariat, [@sekretariat.kabinet], on Monday (7/28). The post featured two photographs: one showing President Prabowo deeply engaged in reading the letters, and another revealing the handwritten note of a student.

“A special delivery from the junior and senior high school students of Sekolah Rakyat in Cibinong,” read the caption.

In one of the photos, a student named Erni Andayani penned a deeply moving and emotional letter to the President. She expressed her sincere gratitude to Prabowo for inaugurating Sekolah Rakyat, which has enabled her to access quality education and reignite her aspirations. Below is an excerpt from Erni’s letter to the President:

“To our esteemed President, Mr. Prabowo Subianto.
A thousand words of thanks would never be enough.
We don’t know how we could ever repay your kindness, Sir.
Because of your generosity, we are now able to go to school.
Thanks to Sekolah Rakyat, we can now study with complete facilities, eat nutritious meals, and pursue our dreams with peace of mind.

Before this school existed, we had no idea what our future would hold.
We felt like we didn’t have one.
We believed all doors were closed, and that there was no way forward for kids like us who come from underprivileged families.

Once again, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Mr. Prabowo, for founding this school.
We are ready to become the Golden Generation of this nation.”

Sekolah Rakyat was officially launched for the 2025–2026 academic year. Managed by the Ministry of Social Affairs, the school specifically targets children from economically disadvantaged families.

As of now, Sekolah Rakyat operates in 63 locations across Indonesia, spanning the islands of Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi, and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
