Sri Mulyani Outlines Prabowo Subianto’s Policies for the Poor: Social Assistance and Education Aid

Jakarta – Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, detailed a series of policies by President Prabowo Subianto aimed at assisting low-income communities. She shared these during the handover of the 2025 Budget Implementation Lists (DIPA) to government ministries and agencies in Jakarta on Tuesday (10/12).

“The underprivileged are supported by the state through various instruments, including social assistance, education aid, healthcare aid, as well as subsidies and tax exemptions,” said Sri Mulyani.

She explained that these policies are supported by the government’s revenue efforts, which emphasize fairness. This includes contributions from the affluent sectors of society, who fulfill their tax obligations responsibly.

“Those who are capable and benefit from development are encouraged to contribute by fulfilling their obligations honestly and responsibly to continue building and advancing Indonesia,” she added.

Sri Mulyani noted that the government is targeting state revenue of IDR 3,005.1 trillion in 2025. Key sources of this revenue include taxes, customs, and non-tax state revenue (PNBP), which will be optimized to achieve this target.

The government and the House of Representatives (DPR) have agreed on a 2025 State Budget (APBN) of IDR 3,621.3 trillion, representing an 8.9% increase compared to 2024’s budget.

Prioritized Spending for Key Programs

Sri Mulyani stated that central government spending is projected at IDR 2,701.4 trillion, allocated to drive priority programs in education, healthcare, social protection, food and energy security, and housing.

“The flagship programs for 2025 have been incorporated into the APBN. These include free nutritious meals, free health check-ups, school renovations, integrated model schools, and the establishment of regional and village-level food storage facilities,” said Sri Mulyani. (RR)
