Jakarta — President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto attended the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday (Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW 1447 H) at Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta, on Thursday evening (September 4).

Prabowo appeared wearing a white koko shirt and a black peci, sitting in the front row alongside Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Carrying the theme “The 2025 State-Level Commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday: Ecotheology – The Example of Prophet Muhammad SAW for the Sustainability of the Earth and the Nation,” Prabowo solemnly listened to a sermon delivered by Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar.

“Let us nurture love and compassion within ourselves, and God willing, that is what promises true happiness. Once again, thank you Mr. President and Mr. Vice President. In a moment, ladies and gentlemen, let us recite Surah Al-Fatihah together for the peace of the Indonesian nation—may we be blessed with harmony,” said Nasaruddin.

Meanwhile, Istiqlal Mosque Imam Husni Ismail concluded the Maulid commemoration by leading a prayer and calling on all worshippers to safeguard nature and uphold peace among fellow human beings.

“Your Excellency Mr. President and Mr. Vice President, dear audience, tonight we gather at Istiqlal Mosque in joy to commemorate Prophet Muhammad SAW. May blessings and the highest honor be upon him, and upon us, his followers. O Lord, Most Compassionate, Most Holy, Your creation is not a resource to be exploited—this motherland is to be preserved in line with the teachings and guidance of Your Prophet, which we must emulate. May Your mercy and blessing always accompany us and guide our nation toward the path You love and approve of,” he said.
