Bandung — The morning atmosphere at Suparlan Airfield, Pusdiklatpassus, Batujajar, West Bandung Regency, on Sunday (10/8), was warm and filled with enthusiasm. President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto arrived to attend the Operational and Military Honors Parade. But before the beat of drums or the synchronized steps of the troops, he was greeted by the wide smiles and eager waves of elementary school children.

With great excitement, they called out his name. “Pak Prabowo!” the students shouted while waving small red-and-white flags tightly in their hands. Not to be outdone, residents lined up along the edge of the field also called out to him. “Pak, Pak Prabowo!” they cheered with beaming smiles.

Some even brought posters of support, reading “A Strong Indonesia with President Prabowo” and “President Prabowo, My Idol.” Their eyes shone with pride as mobile phone cameras tirelessly captured the moment.

Prabowo was scheduled to confer the honorary rank of four-star general, install the Deputy Commander of the TNI, present the Bintang Sakti Medal of Honor to soldiers with outstanding integrity, and deliver directives to 1,966 unit commanders from battalion level and above across all branches of the armed forces.

He would also inaugurate and formalize several new military units, including the promotion of the Kopassus Commander to Pangkopassus and the formation of six new Kopassus groups; the establishment of six new Regional Military Commands (Kodam), 20 Territorial Infantry Brigades, and 100 Territorial Infantry Battalions within the Army.

For the Navy, the agenda included the promotion of the Marine Corps Commander to Pangkormar, the establishment of 14 Naval Regional Commands, and five Marine Infantry Battalions.

For the Air Force, changes included the promotion of the Special Forces Corps (Kopasgat) Commander to Pangkopasgat, the inauguration of Air Defense Command (Kohanudnas), Air Operations Commands (Koopsau), and Air Force Regional Commands (Kodau I–III), as well as the creation of two Paratrooper Battalions, two Air Defense Battalions, and the 3rd Special Forces Detachment.

The event was set to feature thrilling military displays, from paratrike and paramotor performances with Flying Inflatable Boats, fighter jet flypasses, tactical martial arts demonstrations, urban assault operations, airborne and combined operations, to victory jumps and high-speed passes.

This grand event embodies the President’s Asta Cita vision to strengthen the nation’s defense posture and reaffirm his commitment to building a self-reliant, technologically advanced, and operationally superior defense force.
