Jakarta – The 6th President of Indonesia, General TNI (Ret) Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, offered prayers and messages to the Minister of Defense and president-elect for 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, who will soon be inaugurated as the President of Indonesia.
This was conveyed by SBY, as he is affectionately known, while representing the Akabri alumni during the ‘Halal Bihalal and Graduation Celebration of Akabri Alumni 1971-1975 of 2024’ at the Ministry of Defense, Jakarta, on Saturday (4/5).
“Mr. Prabowo Subianto, God willing, will soon lead this country, and this is the will of the Indonesian people. We pray that General TNI (Ret) Prabowo Subianto will succeed in his duties to the nation,” said SBY.
Furthermore, SBY revealed that although the Akabri alumni have reached their twilight years, they will continue to support Prabowo. SBY emphasized that even though their bodies have aged, the spirit of the Akabri alumni will continue to burn bright to safeguard the sovereignty of the nation.
“We will all contribute, we will support so that our new leader will indeed succeed in once again safeguarding the sovereignty and integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” SBY stated.
“The upholding of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, advancing the welfare of the people, establishing truth and justice in this beloved country,” he continued.
At the reunion, on behalf of the Akabri alumni, SBY also entrusted Prabowo with the task of realizing the nation’s aspirations and elevating Indonesia’s reputation on the world stage.
“We entrust to Mr. Prabowo, raise our red and white flag even higher on the world stage,” SBY expressed.
The gathering also served as a moment of nostalgia for the Akabri alumni. The meeting was warm, filled with greetings and a shared dinner.
In addition to SBY, several retired dignitaries such as General TNI (Ret) Wiranto, General (Ret) Hendropriyono, General TNI (Ret) Agum Gumelar, General TNI (Ret) Ryamizard Ryacudu, and General TNI (Ret) Andika Perkasa attended the celebration.
Also present were Mrs. Wismoyo Arismunandar, Mrs. LB Moerdani, and other senior Akabri alumni from the classes of 1971-1975 from both the military and the police.
