Jakarta — Among the newly commissioned officers inaugurated by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (July 23), stood Farah Eldiba, a young woman from Purwakarta, West Java, who finally realized the dream she had pursued for four years at the Indonesian Police Academy.
“Being commissioned by the President himself—I’m overwhelmed with pride and emotion. Four years of hard work have finally paid off,” said Farah, her eyes brimming with tears, moments after the ceremony on the lawn of the Merdeka Palace.
Farah expressed deep gratitude for the support she received throughout her years of training, especially from her mentors and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), who helped shape her into someone ready to serve the nation.
“I want to express my deepest thanks to the President, to all the instructors, and to the entire Indonesian National Police institution,” she said.
But the most heartfelt moment came when she spoke of her mother. With a trembling voice, Farah acknowledged the profound role her mother played in helping her reach this milestone.
“Today, we’ve been officially commissioned as members of the National Police. Soon, we will carry out noble duties. I especially want to thank my parents—above all, my mother—because without her prayers, support, and encouragement, I wouldn’t be standing here today,” Farah continued.
On the sidelines, her mother was seen wiping away tears—an emotional blend of pride, joy, and disbelief upon seeing her daughter in uniform.
“I’m just overwhelmed. I still can’t believe my daughter is now a police officer,” she whispered.
“I hope she becomes a dignified, strong, and responsible officer. I am deeply thankful to the President for commissioning my daughter,” she added.
And finally, through tears, she said,
“Thank you, my child, for never giving up.”
