Jakarta – The Head of the Presidential Communications Office, Hasan Nasbi, firmly denied that the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) would replace the role of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP). Hasan clarified that the change in function only applies to Deputy 4 of the KSP, which has now been integrated into the Presidential Communications Office.

“Oh no, this office is not replacing the KSP. I explained yesterday that only Deputy 4 of the KSP is undergoing a functional shift. Deputy 4 has been moved to the Presidential Communications Office, or PCO,” he stated after meeting with President Joko Widodo at the State Palace on Wednesday (August 21, 2024).

“I asked the President for permission to use the name Presidential Communication Office, PCO. So, it won’t be called ‘Kompres’ anymore, but the Head of PCO, Presidential Communication Office,” Hasan explained.

Furthermore, Hasan revealed that President Joko Widodo had given him several directives. One of the directives was to expedite the formation and organization of the PCO.

“This includes ensuring that the secretarial support from the State Secretariat is promptly completed. We are also working as quickly as possible to secure office space so we can start working and finalize the organizational structure,” he added.
