President Prabowo’s Administration Mainstreams SDGs Through Astacita: From Food Security to Green Transition

Jakarta, July 18, 2025 — The administration of President Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed its strong commitment to sustainable development by fully mainstreaming the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into Indonesia’s 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN). This five-year agenda is designed not only to strengthen national resilience but also to respond to mounting global challenges.

This development vision is embodied in the Astacita strategic framework, which explicitly integrates key SDG components as the foundation for national planning.

According to Minister of National Development Planning (Bappenas), Rachmat Pambudy, the new approach places the SDGs not on the periphery, but at the core of Indonesia’s development strategy.

“Astacita is proof that President Prabowo’s vision aligns with the global agenda while remaining firmly grounded in the needs of the Indonesian people. It’s about food, energy, water—and about a future that is green, resilient, and inclusive,” Rachmat said.

Key priorities reflected in the Astacita framework include:

  • Strengthening food, energy, and water security (aligned with SDGs 2, 6, and 7)
  • Accelerating an inclusive and sustainable green transition (SDGs 8, 12, and 13)
  • Mobilizing innovative financing to support structural transformation in development

The government also aims to harness regional potential, such as solar and wind energy in eastern Indonesia, and leverage the blue economy as a concrete solution to the climate crisis.

Through this integrated approach, Indonesia is demonstrating that national development and sustainable development are not at odds—but mutually reinforcing.

“President Prabowo’s agenda is not just about growth—it’s about resilience. We want Indonesia to stand strong amid global turbulence, while contributing meaningfully to the world,” Rachmat added.

By embedding the SDGs into the 2025–2029 RPJMN, the government ensures that every program—from central ministries to local governments—moves in alignment to build a just, sustainable, and inclusive future.
