Jakarta — President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto officially reshuffled his Cabinet and inaugurated several new members of the Kabinet Merah Putih. A total of four ministers and one deputy minister were sworn in during a ceremony at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (September 8).
The appointments were based on Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia No. 86/P of 2025 concerning the dismissal and appointment of ministers and deputy ministers of the Kabinet Merah Putih for the 2024–2029 term. The officials sworn in were:
- Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa as Minister of Finance;
- Mukhtarudin as Minister of the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers/Head of the Agency for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers;
- Ferry Joko Yuliantono as Minister of Cooperatives;
- Mochamad Irfan Yusuf as Minister of Hajj and Umrah; and
- Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak as Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah.
“I swear that I will remain loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, that I will uphold all laws and regulations as faithfully as possible in service to the nation and state. I swear that in carrying out my duties I will uphold the ethics of office, perform my work to the best of my ability, and bear my responsibilities with full dedication,” President Prabowo declared while dictating the oath of office.
“We do,” the newly appointed ministers and deputy minister responded in unison.
Earlier, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi elaborated on the establishment of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
“In line with discussions with the House of Representatives regarding the Hajj Bill, the government and the President have agreed to establish the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. At the same time, the President has signed the decree appointing the minister and deputy minister who will lead the new ministry,” Prasetyo said.
The inauguration was attended by leaders of state institutions, sitting ministers and deputy ministers of the Kabinet Merah Putih, Indonesian National Armed Forces Commander Gen. Agus Subiyanto, and National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
