Jakarta — President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, made a commanding and dignified appearance as he stood atop the locally made Maung MV3 Garuda Limousine during the 79th Bhayangkara Day celebration held at the National Monument in Jakarta on Tuesday (July 1).
Dressed in a grey suit and black peci, President Prabowo stood tall in the domestically manufactured vehicle, waving and saluting warmly to the crowds and uniformed personnel assembled in formation. The gesture underscored both his respect and close connection to the nation’s law enforcement community.
The Maung vehicle, proudly produced by the Indonesian defense industry, is designed for tactical operations in rugged terrain while maintaining a high standard of comfort and security — symbolizing the nation’s commitment to self-reliance in defense technology.
Following the flag-raising ceremony, President Prabowo conducted a troop inspection as the ceremony’s official inspector, this time aboard a tactical vehicle operated by the Indonesian National Police (Polri). Accompanied by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the scene reflected the deep synergy between the central government and law enforcement institutions in safeguarding national stability.
The moment highlighted not only the President’s support for Indonesia’s defense industry but also his solidarity with frontline law enforcement officers — the protectors of public order and national security.
This year’s Bhayangkara Day celebration carried the theme “The Police for the People,” a spirit that President Prabowo echoed in his address, urging the police force to remain rooted in the communities they serve.
“Indonesian police must stand among the people — feel their struggles, hear the cries of their hearts. And I have witnessed that sincerity throughout my presidency. That is why I say: Continue! Continue!” Prabowo declared.
The President also emphasized that Indonesia is on the cusp of a great national awakening and that Polri must remain vigilant in guarding the nation’s wealth and sovereignty.
“The police are the frontline in safeguarding the riches and sovereignty of this nation,” he stated.
“Polri will always be a target for certain elements — there will always be attempts to weaken and discredit the institution, to erode your spirit of service. That’s why I hope the police today and in the future will grow even stronger, more resilient, and impervious to destruction by any force,” Prabowo concluded.
