On Monday, August 19, 2024, President Joko Widodo reshuffled the Indonesia Maju Cabinet by inaugurating three ministers and one deputy minister at the State Palace, Jakarta. This inauguration is part of the efforts to conclude the 2019-2024 term with more solid and focused leadership.
The appointments are based on the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 92/P of 2024, which appointed Supratman Andi Agtas as the Minister of Law and Human Rights, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani as the Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board, and Bahlil Lahadalia as the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources.
Additionally, President Jokowi also appointed Angga Raka Prabowo as the Deputy Minister of Communication and Informatics, based on Presidential Decree RI Number 52/M of 2024. “I pledge my loyalty to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will execute all laws and regulations faithfully for my service to the nation and state,” stated President Jokowi while administering the oath of office.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin and other high-ranking officials such as Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto. Other ministers present included the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir and the Minister of Communication and Informatics Budi Arie Setiadi.
This inauguration marks a significant step for the Jokowi administration in strengthening its cabinet towards the end of its term, with hopes that the new officials will immediately work effectively and contribute maximally to the interests of the state.
