In his state address during the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) of the Republic of Indonesia, held on Friday, August 16, 2024, President Joko Widodo conveyed a heartfelt message of hope and support to President-elect General (Ret.) Prabowo Subianto.

In this warm and reflective moment, President Joko Widodo expressed his gratitude for the achievements of the Indonesian nation during his 10 years of leadership and humbly apologized for any shortcomings that the people of Indonesia might have felt.

President Joko Widodo emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation in realizing the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045. He expressed optimism that under the leadership of President-elect Prabowo Subianto, Indonesia would continue to advance and achieve even greater progress.

“Next year, God willing, you will deliver the state address. On October 20, 2024, allow me to hand over the baton of leadership to you, Prabowo Subianto. Allow me also to pass on all the hopes and dreams of the Indonesian people, from Sabang to Merauke, from Miangas to Rote Island, from the periphery, from the outermost regions, from villages, from city centers, to you,” stated President Joko Widodo in his address.

President Joko Widodo concluded his speech with a prayer that Allah SWT would always provide guidance and ease for the Indonesian nation under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto in the upcoming administration.

In the spirited atmosphere of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, President Joko Widodo called on all Indonesians to continue to uphold unity and solidarity for the progress of the nation.
