Solo — The visit of President Prabowo Subianto to Warung Bakmi Bu Citro Solo 1, alongside former President Joko Widodo, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and several ministers and deputy ministers from the Merah Putih Cabinet, left a heartfelt impression on everyone present—from casual diners to the kitchen staff.
For Yati and her friends, it was an unforgettable surprise.
“I never expected the President to be here. Not at all,” she said, smiling. “It was such a joy. Mr. Prabowo seems like a warm and approachable leader—close to the people.”
Another diner, Feni, who came with her husband Teddy, echoed the sentiment.
“We didn’t expect to meet the President… it was such a happy moment for us, to see Mr. Prabowo in person,” they said.
For Eni, the cook behind the steaming bowls of bakmi, the honor was both exhilarating and humbling.
“We had to prepare the food on the spot, quickly! I was so happy the President came. He ate the food, and he liked it,” she said with a broad grin.
Eni also offered a prayer for the President’s success.
“May Mr. Prabowo be successful in leading the country, and may Indonesia continue to progress under his leadership.”
Joko and Sulis, the owners of the eatery, expressed deep gratitude for the unexpected visit.
“Thank you, Mr. Prabowo, for visiting us. It’s such an honor for a small place like ours to receive a visit from the President,” Joko said sincerely.
The moment served as a powerful reminder of the deep bond between Indonesia’s leaders and its people—captured not in a grand hall or formal event, but in the warmth of a local noodle stall on an ordinary night in Solo.
