Bandung — President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, attended the 2025 Indonesian Science, Technology, and Industry Convention (KSTI), held on Thursday (August 7) at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). The event was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) in collaboration with ITB.
Upon arrival, President Prabowo immediately toured several exhibition booths featured at the venue. Among them was the “Flagship Research Products” booth from Padjadjaran University, showcasing innovations such as VR Dental Hypnosis, VR for Nurses, and other research-based technologies.
Following the exhibition tour, Prabowo entered the Sabuga Hall to deliver his remarks. He began by greeting members of his Kabinet Merah Putih (Red and White Cabinet), the Governor of West Java, and other distinguished guests.
“My respects and appreciation to the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Professor Brian Yuliarto, as the host of this event; our coordinating ministers, ministers, agency heads, and members of the Red and White Cabinet in attendance; and the Rector of ITB, Professor Tatacipta Dirgantara, along with the academic senate, faculty leadership, and university community,” Prabowo said in his opening speech.
With the theme “Science and Technology for Economic Growth and Equity,” KSTI 2025 aims to serve as a catalyst for a national economic transformation driven by research, science, and technological innovation.
The convention is a key part of the government’s long-term strategy to strengthen the foundation for Golden Indonesia 2045.
KSTI 2025 also features exhibitions from eight national priority sectors: energy, defense, digitalization (including artificial intelligence and semiconductors), downstream industry development, healthcare, food security, maritime affairs, and advanced materials and manufacturing.
