Bogor – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto addressed thousands of field officers working in the Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG, Free Nutritious Meals) program’s kitchens, calling them the nation’s frontline force in safeguarding the future of Indonesian children.
Prabowo emphasized that every aspect of their fieldwork—from food inspections to distribution oversight by the Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG, Nutritional Fulfillment Service Unit)—is part of a national mission.
“Every time you inspect a food container, every piece of chicken, every egg—remember this! Your vigilance, your planning—it’s all about securing our nation and its children,” the President declared during his briefing to the Badan Gizi Nasional (National Nutrition Agency) and SPPG coordinators at his residence in Hambalang on Saturday (3/5).
“No laziness. No negligence. No collusion. You’ll face bribes, deceit, and lies. Where there’s sugar, there are ants [proverb for corruption opportunities]. Greedy and wicked people will target this program,”** he warned.
He framed the MBG kitchen staff’s duties as patriotic and sacred. “A noble task,” he added.
Prabowo also urged SPPG officers to maintain unity and integrity: “Stay connected with your team. Communication is key. Share ideas, voice concerns openly. Keep morale high. Report difficulties immediately!”
