Jakarta – President-elect of Indonesia for the period 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, has stated that the quality of life for the Indonesian people is his priority. According to Prabowo, the people of Indonesia are the number one resource.
This was revealed in an article he wrote and was published in the international media outlet Newsweek on Wednesday (June 12) under the title “The Road Ahead for Indonesia.”
“The primary priority of my presidency is ultimately the quality of life of the Indonesian people. Our people, not our minerals, are Indonesia’s number one resource,” he wrote.
In line with this, during his upcoming presidency, a key action will be to open more opportunities for the public to work and grow through education.
He also highlighted the policy of free meals for school children. According to him, this support can positively impact their cognitive abilities.
“I am optimistic that through these policies, we will enhance school attendance and performance and demonstrate our support and solidarity to the children who need it most,” he added.
Food security, he said, is also a priority to boost the quality of life for the Indonesian people. Therefore, he plans to reform to build a modern and sustainable agricultural sector.
“Although I understand the difficulties and challenges our country faces in agriculture, I think it is unacceptable for a country like Indonesia, which is a leading nation in the G7, not to be able to provide complete food security for its people,” he said.
“There is no objective justification why we cannot reform our agricultural and food production sectors, and I will work hard from the first day of my term so that we can achieve this goal,” he added.
