Semarang – President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, reminded police officers to always practice frugality and efficiency in managing their institutional budgets.
As he has repeatedly conveyed to the Red and White Cabinet, Prabowo also urged the police to minimize ceremonial events, including anniversary celebrations.
He delivered this message while addressing the National Police Chiefs Assembly (Kasatwil Polri) at the Police Academy in Semarang, Central Java, on Wednesday (11/12).
“Once again, be frugal and reduce wastefulness. Cut down on ceremonies; don’t have too many [celebrations] for anniversaries,” Prabowo said.
Prabowo suggested that police anniversaries should be celebrated modestly to avoid unnecessary expenses, such as by holding a simple meal at the station.
“Reduce anniversary celebrations. Keep it simple with a meal gathering at the headquarters,” he emphasized.
Furthermore, Prabowo reminded police officers to always side with and defend the interests of the people.
“I ask you all, I appeal to you, not in the name of Prabowo, but in the name of the Indonesian people. In the name of your parents. In the name of your children. Police officers, stand by and always defend the interests of the Indonesian people,” Prabowo said.
Prabowo also stressed his hope that the police would always uphold professionalism in carrying out their duties.
“With strong, militant, and professional police, we can safeguard our future. We can save the nation,” said Prabowo.
“The nation and its people need skilled police officers,” he concluded. (RR)
