Jakarta – President-elect and Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto expressed his deep gratitude to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) for his service to the nation during his tenure as president.
Prabowo conveyed his appreciation through a series of photos posted on his Instagram account, @prabowo, following the closing ceremony of the Gerindra Party’s National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) at GBK Arena, Senayan, Jakarta, on Saturday, August 31. The post featured eight photos capturing moments with Jokowi and other government officials.
“I extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Jokowi for his dedication to the country and the people of Indonesia over the years,” Prabowo stated on Sunday, September 1.
Prabowo emphasized that he and all Gerindra Party members hold Jokowi’s service in the highest regard. “If anyone hurts Mr. Jokowi, all Gerindra members will feel the pain,” Prabowo said.
He also thanked Jokowi for inspiring and motivating the entire Gerindra Party family.
“It is an honor and a source of pride that, for the first time, a Gerindra Party assembly was attended by the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia,” Prabowo added.
In addition to Jokowi, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka were also present at the closing ceremony of the Gerindra Party’s Rapimnas.
The event was further attended by party chairmen and elites from the Koalisi Indonesia Maju (KIM) Plus coalition, as well as several cabinet ministers, including Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, and MPR Chairman Bambang Soesatyo.
