Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto assured the public that the government has no intention of making life difficult for Indonesians. He made this statement during his speech at the culmination of the 2024 National Christmas Celebration held at the Indonesia Arena, GBK, Jakarta, on Saturday (December 28).
“I am committed to leading a clean government that prioritizes the interests of the Indonesian people. There is absolutely no intention to make life harder for our citizens,” Prabowo stated.
He emphasized that he and his administration are tirelessly working to provide the best for the people, often without breaks or holidays.
“We never feel like we have a day off, because we understand that the Indonesian people need leaders who work hard, think critically, and strive to do their best,” Prabowo explained.
Prabowo highlighted the immense responsibility he feels from the hopes and expectations of the Indonesian people. Reflecting on the oath he took on October 20, 2024, during his inauguration as President, he reaffirmed his commitment to uphold the 1945 Constitution, laws, and regulations to the best of his ability, particularly in combating those who harm the nation.
He identified such adversaries as corruptors, smugglers, tax evaders, and others driven by greed.
“We’ve only been in office for 2 months and 8 days. Please give us a little more time. Be patient and allow us the opportunity to work earnestly,” Prabowo requested.
He acknowledged the challenges ahead but expressed confidence in overcoming them.
“Our struggle, this is our challenge—human nature itself. We must have the courage to confront those who choose the wrong path: deceiving the people, committing corruption, smuggling, manipulating, refusing to pay taxes, or exploiting the system despite being given facilities. This is our shared challenge, and I am confident we can overcome it,” he asserted.
Prabowo concluded his remarks with optimism and faith in the nation’s ability to succeed.
“Believe me, if we have good intentions and are determined to do good, we will succeed. I am confident the Almighty is with us,” he said, greeted by applause from the audience.
