Magelang — President Prabowo Subianto clarified that the Merah Putih Cabinet Retreat, involving drills and briefings for all ministers and deputy ministers in Magelang, is not intended to instill a militaristic approach.
Prabowo explained that this retreat follows the principles of “The Military Way,” a strategy commonly adopted by both governments and corporations to foster discipline and loyalty to the nation.
“I’m not trying to make you militaristic; that’s not the intent. The Military Way has been embraced by many governments and especially companies. Its core principle is discipline. Second, loyalty — and I’m asking you to be loyal not to Prabowo, but to the Indonesian nation and state,” Prabowo emphasized on Friday (Oct. 25).
During his address, Prabowo highlighted several priorities for the Cabinet, including poverty alleviation, the Free Nutritious Meals program, anti-corruption efforts, and achieving self-sufficiency in food and energy.
“I am here, sworn to defend the nation and state, loyal to our nation and our people,” Prabowo stated.
At the end of the briefing, Prabowo and the Cabinet members joined in a group photo, concluding with a spirited cheer.
“Merah Putih!” chanted President Prabowo and the ministers in unison.
The session, held at the Military Academy in Magelang, Central Java, was marked by camaraderie and unity. Ministers and deputies wore a unified dress code of white shirts and black trousers, creating a coordinated atmosphere.
The ministers gathered for the briefing amid the serene and cool surroundings of Borobudur Golf, adding a warm and relaxed tone to the event. (RR)
