Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that hundreds of TNI soldiers, 352 to be exact, will participate in the military parade to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the Republic of India which will take place on 26 January 2025 in New Delhi, India.
Prabowo said this before taking off for India at Halim Perdana Kusuma Airbase, Jakarta, Thursday (23/1) afternoon.
‘In celebration of their (India’s) 76th Republic Day, they also invited our troops, the TNI, who will participate in the defile,’ Mr Prabowo said.
Prabowo said that Indonesia was proud and honoured by the Indian government’s invitation because hundreds of TNI personnel, including Akmil cadets, had the opportunity to be in the front row of India’s 76th anniversary parade defile.
‘If I’m not mistaken, we get a place of honour, we are at the front of the defile as an honour contingent,’ Prabowo said.
‘Present from us (Indonesia) are 352 TNI soldiers and cadets from the military academy,’ Prabowo continued.
During his visit to India, Prabowo will meet with Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The two countries will also sign an MoU on cooperation in a number of fields including health, culture, security, maritime safety, as well as technology and digital development.
In addition, Prabowo will also meet with Indian entrepreneurs who are interested in investing in Indonesia. (RR)
