Abu Dhabi – Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto was awarded the ‘Zayed Medal’ by the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ).
The honor was bestowed upon Prabowo during his visit to Al Shati Palace, Abu Dhabi, on Monday (13/05). The award was given in recognition of Prabowo’s sincere efforts to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
“His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan awarded the ‘Zayed Medal’ to His Excellency Prabowo Subianto,” stated the UAE’s Official News Agency, Wakalat Anba’a al Emarat (WAM), on Tuesday (14/05).
“As a recognition of his sincere efforts and his role in enhancing the cooperative relations between the UAE and Indonesia,” the statement continued.
Prabowo expressed appreciation for the award given by the UAE. He thanked and felt honored by the accolade, hoping that relations between the two countries would continue to develop and grow in mutual interest.
“On this occasion, I also received honors from MBZ and the UAE Government in the form of the ‘Zayed Medal’ for good cooperative relations between Indonesia and the UAE,” said Prabowo in a statement alongside a photo he uploaded on Instagram @prabowo.
In the meeting, MBZ also reiterated his congratulations to Prabowo as the President-elect of Indonesia for 2024-2029 and the Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who accompanied Prabowo on this occasion, for their victory in the 2024 Presidential Election. MBZ also prayed for the success of Prabowo-Gibran in leading Indonesia.
The arrival of Prabowo and Gibran was also welcomed by the leadership of the UAE, including the Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Defense Minister Mohammed bin Mubarak Fadel Al Mazrouei, and Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
