Moscow — Indonesian Defense Minister and President-elect for 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, directly informed Russian President Vladimir Putin about the plan to establish direct flights from Russia to Bali to support the opening of the Russian Consulate General on the island.
Prabowo conveyed this plan during his meeting with Putin in Moscow on Wednesday (31/7).
“In the field of tourism, we have just approved direct flights to Bali, and we also welcome the opening of the Russian Consulate General in Bali,” Prabowo stated.
While awaiting approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the opening of the Russian Consulate General in Bali, the Indonesian government is ready to open direct flight routes from Russia to Bali.
“We fully support the plan to open the Russian Consulate General in Bali, and we support direct flights from Russia, either through Aeroflot or Russian Airlines,” Prabowo added.
He continued, stating that this decision was made to support various collaborations between Indonesia and Russia, particularly in the tourism sector.
