Beijing – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto met with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Saturday (November 9). Prabowo expressed his deep gratitude for the warm welcome, especially as it took place on a Saturday evening with a full state ceremony.
“I am very grateful that you have received me. I realize today is Saturday evening, yet you still welcomed me with a state ceremony. Thank you very much,” Prabowo conveyed to Xi.
During the meeting, Prabowo underscored his commitment to strengthening Indonesia-China relations, emphasizing the importance of collaboration for the prosperity and stability of the region and the world.
“Once again, President Xi, esteemed leaders, I would like to reaffirm our commitment to enhancing this partnership and collaborating for the mutual benefit of our two nations and for the prosperity, peace, and stability of all of Asia. That is my commitment,” Prabowo stated.
Xi Jinping echoed these sentiments, expressing his readiness to continue the tradition of strong, cooperative ties with Indonesia, ensuring that the bilateral relationship remains beneficial to both countries.
“China is ready to work with the new Indonesian administration to uphold the tradition of friendly cooperation, maintain the correct direction of our bilateral relationship, and continue writing new chapters of strength, unity, and mutually beneficial collaboration,” Xi said.
The following day, Prabowo is scheduled to attend a meeting between the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and major Chinese companies, during which over $10 billion in investment agreements will be signed.
“Tomorrow, I am invited to a meeting between KADIN and prominent Chinese corporations, where agreements totaling more than $10 billion will be signed. I believe this marks a significant milestone in our relationship,” Prabowo concluded. (RR)
