Paris, France — Indonesian Defense Minister and President-Elect for 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, attended a meeting with leaders of major French companies under the Paris Chamber of Commerce on Thursday (July 26).
The meeting, titled the “Indonesian-France Business Executive Luncheon on the Sidelines of the Paris Summer Olympics 2024,” aimed to strengthen the cooperative relationship between Indonesia and France.
Prabowo was eagerly awaited and warmly welcomed by Anindya Novyan Bakrie, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board. The two greeted each other and shook hands upon meeting.
“How are you?” Prabowo asked Anindya.
Prabowo and Anindya then entered the meeting room together for the Indonesian-France Business Executive Luncheon on the Sidelines of the Paris Summer Olympics 2024.
“Welcome, Mr. President. Congratulations!” a French delegate greeted the President-Elect for 2024-2029.
In his remarks, Prabowo emphasized Indonesia’s desire to maintain good relations with all countries and stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between Indonesia and France, particularly in ways that would mutually benefit both economies.
“We want to collaborate. We say, we want to be good friends to all, and we want to promote and support collaboration and cooperation. We are also blessed with the fact that Indonesia will soon be able to achieve sustainable, renewable, and green energy,” Prabowo said.
Accompanying Prabowo at the meeting were Indonesia’s Ambassador to France, Mohamad Oemar; Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir; and Roesan Perkasa Roeslani, former Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce for the 2015-2020 period.
In addition to Prabowo, the meeting featured two other speakers: Stephane Michel, President of Gas Renewables & Power at Total Energy, and Nicolas Hieronimus, Group CEO of L’Oreal Paris.
The meeting is expected to further continuous economic relations between Indonesia and France, bringing positive impacts and fostering closer economic development for both nations.
