Beijing – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto began his official visit to Beijing by meeting with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), at the Great Hall of the People in Xicheng, China, on Saturday morning (November 9).
The meeting between Prabowo and Zhao was cordial and friendly. Prabowo expressed his gratitude and honor at being invited as President of Indonesia, following his inauguration on October 20, 2024.
“It is an honor for me to be here today. As you know, this is my first state visit since being inaugurated as President of Indonesia,” Prabowo stated.
Zhao Leji extended his congratulations to Prabowo on his recent election victory, expressing warm hospitality and optimism for the visit’s potential to enhance the bond between Indonesia and China.
“To President of Indonesia, we extend our congratulations on your election. We warmly welcome you on this visit, which underscores our mutual commitment to progress and strengthening the Indonesia-China relationship,” Zhao said.
During the diplomatic discussion, Prabowo reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to maintaining and advancing the cooperative relationship between the two nations.
“I am committed to further enhancing our countries’ cooperation and will discuss with President Xi Jinping ways to deepen and expand our partnership in the future,” Prabowo conveyed. (RR)
