Prabowo Subianto leaves for New Delhi to attend Republic of India commemoration

Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto departed the country for a working visit to New Delhi, India at the invitation of the Indian Government to attend the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of India.

‘I am there, of course, to carry out a state visit, bilateral meetings, and secondly I was invited to attend as a guest of honour at the 76th anniversary of the Republic of India on 26 January 2025,’ Prabowo said at Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport, Jakarta, Thursday (23/1).

Prabowo was accompanied by a number of ministers who had departed earlier. Prabowo said he would also hold bilateral meetings with the President of India and the Prime Minister of India.

‘Of course, I will have bilateral meetings with the President of India and Prime Minister of India, His Excellency Narendra Modi and President of India, His Excellency Droupadi Murmu,’ he continued.

In India, Prabowo will also meet a number of industry figures and entrepreneurs who are interested in investing in Indonesia.

‘The MOU exchange agreements cover several fields, including health, culture, security, maritime safety, as well as technological and digital development. I will also meet with industry leaders, business leaders from India who want to invest in Indonesia,’ Prabowo explained.

Meanwhile, after India, Prabowo will continue his working visit to Malaysia to fulfil an invitation from His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and will hold a bilateral meeting with the Malaysian PM.

‘From India I will leave for Malaysia for a state visit as well, fulfilling the invitation of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, and will also have a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Malaysia,’ Prabowo said.

Accompanying Prabowo’s departure to India were Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoedin, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar, TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto and National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
