New Delhi – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto paid tribute to Indian Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat Memorial Tomb, New Delh, Saturday (25/1) after receiving official honours at the Presidential Palace of India. Mahatma Gandhi is one of the greatest figures in the history of India’s independence struggle.
Upon arriving at the location, Prabowo immediately rushed to the arch entrance and changed his footwear. He then laid a wreath on Mahatma Gandhi’s grave.
After laying the wreath, Prabowo sprinkled flowers on the tomb and observed one minute of silence. Prabowo then filled out a guest book and wrote his impression of Mahatma Gandhi.
‘Mahatma Gandhi is a great leader, a great teacher, a great inspiration for all humanity. He has been my inspiration in the light for justice, freedom, and human dignity. May his sail be at rest, and may his teaching remain eternal,’ Prabowo wrote.

Prabowo was accompanied by a number of Red and White Cabinet ministers, including Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Communication Meutya Hafid, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon.
