Jakarta – President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, officially inaugurated the Silaturahmi Tunnel, connecting the Istiqlal Mosque and Jakarta Cathedral, on Thursday (12/12).
During the event, he emphasized that nothing is more important than peace and harmony within the nation.
“Ladies and gentlemen, congratulations and thank you. Let us continue to safeguard harmony and foster closeness among us. Nothing is more important than unity and peace. Only through peace can we achieve prosperity, a just and prosperous nation,” he stated.
Prabowo highlighted that for hundreds of years, Indonesians of diverse religions, ethnicities, and races have lived side by side in mutual respect. He viewed the Silaturahmi Tunnel as a symbol of harmony and peace that must always be preserved.
“The message from this event is that we must maintain peace, uphold harmony, help one another, and protect each other. Our nation will succeed, rise, and find happiness,” Prabowo concluded. (RR)
