New Delhi – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Friday (24/1) took time to stop by his favourite bookstore during his visit to New Delhi, India, to attend a state invitation.
Prabowo uploaded the moment on his personal Instagram account @prabowo. He was wearing a light brown shirt with black trousers and shoes.
‘Stopping by my favourite bookstore in New Delhi,’ Prabowo wrote in the caption of the post, quoted on Friday.
The bookstore is known to be located in New Delhi, precisely in the Khan Market area. The shop is called Bahrisons Booksellers, which has been established since 1953.
Prabowo arrived in New Delhi on Thursday night (23/1). His visit to India marks a new chapter in bilateral relations, as well as commemorating 75 years of diplomatic cooperation between Indonesia and India.
In a press statement before his departure at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta, Prabowo expressed his pride at being invited as chief guest at the 76th Indian Republic Day celebrations. This invitation is considered to be a symbol of extraordinary honour for Indonesia.
‘In the celebration of their 76th republic day, they also invited our TNI troops who will participate in the defile. And if I’m not mistaken, we got our place of honour at the front of the defile as an honour contingent. Present from us are 352 TNI soldiers and cadets from the military academy,’ he said.
The state visit is also scheduled to include bilateral meetings with Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The agenda will discuss various strategic issues, including strengthening cooperation between the two countries. (RR)
