Bogor — President-elect and Chairman of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, delivered a message to all Gerindra Party members elected to the House of Representatives (DPR) for the 2024-2029 term at the Garuda Yaksa Hall in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Monday (September 23).
In his speech, Prabowo reminded the party members to always remain loyal to the Indonesian nation and state. He also vowed his unwavering commitment to defend the people, even at the cost of his life.
“My life, my oath—I want to die for the truth, I want to die defending my people,” Prabowo declared firmly.
“I want to die defending the poor, I want to die defending the honor of the Indonesian nation, I have no doubt,” he continued.
During the two-day Educational and Training Briefing (Diklat), specifically held for the newly elected DPR members from the Gerindra Party for the 2024-2029 term, Prabowo emphasized the nobility of serving the nation and the people.
“Remember, serving and working for our people is an honorable path. We are on the right track. We stand tall. Our loyalty is to the people. To our nation,” he said.
Of the 18 political parties that participated in the 2024 General Election, the General Elections Commission (KPU) confirmed that eight met the 4 percent parliamentary threshold. Based on the recapitulation results, Gerindra secured 86 seats in the DPR. (RR)
