Jakarta — President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the Free Health Checkup program launched under his administration is a global breakthrough, as not all countries provide such services for their entire population.
Speaking at the Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the State Palace on Friday (March 21), Prabowo underscored the significance of the initiative, which has been in place since February 10, 2025. The program is available at community health centers (puskesmas) and clinics in collaboration with BPJS Kesehatan, Indonesia’s national health insurance provider.
“I see that we have started rolling out the Free Health Checkup program for every citizen. It has been launched and is now operational. I believe this is a breakthrough on a global scale. Not every country has a program like this,” he stated.
The Free Health Checkup program is designed to cover Indonesia’s entire population, from newborns to the elderly. Examinations are conducted in stages, with procedures tailored to different age groups.
During the meeting, Prabowo also expressed his gratitude to the entire Merah Putih cabinet for their teamwork and dedication. He acknowledged the collaboration among ministries and agencies during the first 150 days of his administration.
“Essentially, I want to thank the ministers and deputy ministers for their hard work. As a new cabinet, naturally, the first 150 days require an adjustment period. But I can see strong cooperation and a fast, intensive work pace,” he remarked.
“As a leader, I can say that what we have achieved so far would not have been possible without teamwork. Success is unattainable without a solid team,” he added. (RR)
