Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has reminded all agencies to work cleanly. He emphasised that he will take action against anyone who is not in line with this principle.

Prabowo made the statement while attending Nahdlatul Ulama’s 102nd anniversary event titled ‘Working Together with the Ummah for Maslahat Indonesia’ at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (5/2).

‘I have warned many times, now who is stubborn, who is ndableg, who does not want to join this big flow, with the demands of the people, a clean government, I will take action,’ he said.

Prabowo believes that every leader must set a good example, even if the steps taken are unpopular. He also invited all of his staff to have the courage to improve themselves.

‘We must be brave, I invite all my colleagues, we must be brave,’ Prabowo said.

‘Dare to correct ourselves; dare to build a government in the future, a government free from fraud and corruption, that is our determination,’ he continued.

At that moment, Prabowo also mentioned the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur as a figure who should be emulated. According to him, Gus Dur was a leader who was loyal to his commitment to maintaining peace.

‘One of Gus Dur’s leadership that we should emulate is his commitment to represent Islam in moderation, in coolness, in peace,’ Prabowo said. (RR)
